About the piece

A waltz decorated in the manner of an arabesque, one of Lack's more popular salon pieces and a piece that has stayed in teaching use longer than most of the genre. Lack was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour for his services to music education, a reminder that the salon composer and the serious teacher were frequently the same person.
