The second variation of the opening movement of Mozart's K. 331. Where the first gave the running figuration to the right hand, this one hands much of the activity to the left, with the melody picked out above.
Alternating the active voice between the hands is a standard variation device, and it doubles as a practical technical exercise, which is part of why this movement is so often taught.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a Classical composer and musician. He completed more than 800 works in his life—including outstanding examples of most of the genres of his time: symphonies, concertos, chamber music, opera, and choral music—and is regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of Western music.
