About the piece

Golden Dreams, by Franz Behr, a German composer whose opus numbers ran past six hundred, almost all of it light salon music aimed at amateur pianists. Behr has one small claim on posterity beyond his own output: a melody of his was adapted into the Russian song that Tchaikovsky then used, as a supposed folk tune, in his Album for the Young.
