Danse de la poupée : extrait du ballet La boite à joujoux

A number from La boite a joujoux, The Toy Box, a children's ballet Debussy composed in 1913 telling the story of a toy soldier, a doll and a punchinello who come to life at night inside their box. He wrote it with his young daughter Chou-Chou in mind, the same child for whom he had written Children's Corner a few years earlier. Debussy completed the piano score but died before finishing the orchestration, which was completed by his friend Andre Caplet.
