About the piece

Echoes from the Theatre, twenty fifth in the Album for the Young, and firmly in the more advanced second half of the collection. Full of abrupt dynamic contrasts and theatrical gestures, it captures a child's memory of a night at the opera or the playhouse, and demands considerably more control of character and pacing than the early numbers.
