About the piece
Thirty five easy studies by Cornelius Gurlitt, arranged in gradually increasing difficulty and covering the basic technical ground an elementary player needs.
Collections of this kind were produced in enormous quantity in the nineteenth century, and most are forgotten. Gurlitt's survive because he took the trouble to make the music itself worth playing.
